Much worse is the pain that one undergoes when burned in a fire. Your skin bubbles when   there are many layers of skin are burnt and the fire leaves painful blisters. To protect the skin, patients are wrapped in gauze. The gauze is changed every so often according to doctor's orders. Changing gauze is also a painful experience.

Skin helps to control our body temperature by releasing heat and holding in heat so burns are very dangerous to one's skin. Skin also retrains water and protects us from infection.
